Exposition of the museum of disappeared synagogues and its communities.
01.09.2013

On the day October 5th of this year the rededication of the synagogue will be held ceremonially, in the spring of the next year then opened to the public. The synagogue will serve an oratory - we offer it as the only one in South Bohemia, but our intention is to preserve the memory of our fellow citizens who have disappeared, to provide materials for instruction and learning, and at the same time continue to be a "meeting place". Using the information centre, art gallery, library, study and cultural programs we offer a wide range of attractions and information.

Exposition of the museum focuses on the disappeared synagogues and Jewish community life of the people in our region. Our synagogue was unbelievable lucky to have escaped demolition, kept the Torah (!), and the descendants of the members of the religious community, although scattered throughout the world, carry on its message. If you can help in any way, any information is a valuable stone into a colourful mosaic of the lives of those who have gone before, or ended up in death camps.
